The Warriors Community Foundation have been supporting local schools and rugby league clubs in Auckland to get families vaccinated and ensure the city can become a safer place to work, travel and play.
CEO for the foundation Lincoln Jefferson delivered Vodafone Warriors giveaways to encourage families to get vaccinated. “It’s great to be able to assist our communities, especially those involved with league. So many dedicated organisations are working together to ensure our whanau are and feel safe. It is wonderful to see.”
Mangere East Hawkes Rugby League alongside Turuki Health Care and Otara Scorpions Rugby League in partnership with Southseas Healthcare managed to vaccinate hundreds of people over their respective two-day drive through vaccination campaigns.
Willie Maea, GM at the Ngāti Otara Sports Complex (home to the Otara Scorpions) said “To have the support of the Warriors Community Foundation and Vodafone Warriors at event such as these to support our whanau is fantastic”.
Schools that received support for their students and families through the Warriors Community Foundation include Bairds Mainfreight. Papatoetoe Intermediate and Redoubt North.
